Charges filed in connection with Hamilton teen fight

HAMILTON, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- Hamilton Police filed charges in connection with the teen fight that made the rounds on Facebook.

While the girls and their families refused to file charges in the fight on North E Street Sunday, Hamilton police charged the 13 and 15-year-old girls with disorderly conduct.  The father of the 13-year-old was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for encouraging the girl to fight.  That's a misdemeanor charge filed in juvenile court.  If convicted, the father could receive a maximum of six months in jail.

Butler County prosecutor Mike Gmoser said teenage fights are not a rite of passage to adulthood.  In extreme cases they can be a rite of passage to a hospital or morgue.

Police are not releasing his name because all the papers haven't been filed.
