Presidential heirloom on display

CANTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- A piece of Ohio presidential history was on display after a fundraising campaign to buy it from a Las Vegas pawn shop.

The tiara once belonged to President William McKinley's wife, Ida.  Relatives who inherited it sold it to the pawn shop that's featured in the history channel show "Pawn Stars."

The store's co-owner offered to sell the diamond-accented headpiece to the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum for $43,000, the amount he paid for it.

Donors raised the money and the authenticated piece was unveiled at the museum last week.  McKinley was the nation's 25th President.  He was assassinated six months into his second term.
