Owner turns over dog that bit child in Batavia

BATAVIA, Ohio (WKRC) -- The owner of a dog that bit a child in Batavia has turned his dog over to Clermont County Animal Control.

The Clermont County Sheriff's Office says eight-year-old Raelynn Liming was staying the night with a friend at the Greenbriar Mobile Home Park on Seten Court Sunday night. That's when deputies say the owner's pit bull-boxer mix bit the girl on the face as she watched TV.

The owners of the dog were able to restrain it. Raelynn was taken by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital. There is no word on the extent of her injury.

The dog has been placed under a ten day quarantine. After that the owners can surrender it for euthanization or they can reclaim it. The owner was cited for violation of the vicious dog ordinance.
