Southwest flight makes emergency landing in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Southwest Airlines flight made an emergency landing late Tuesday night in Columbus.

An in-flight emergency forced the Chicago-bound plane to land at Port Columbus International Airport just after 11:30 p.m.

Flight 424 diverted it's trip from Baltimore to Chicago. A cockpit alarm indicated smoke in the cargo hold.

All 49  passengers and five crew members immediately evacuated down the plane's emergency slides.

Emergency crews found smoke in a forward cargo hold.
