Governor visits Ohio to celebrate GE's move to The Banks

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Ohio's governor visited Cincinnati to help celebrate General Electric's decision to build its new operations center downtown.
Local leaders said the deal will bring 1,800 jobs and an estimated billion dollar impact to The Banks.

Senator Sherrod Brown (D) of Ohio said, "What this project does, what GE's global center here does, is make sure there's a real permanence in long term development.  And long term benefit for The Banks project and that perhaps means more than anything."

Construction on the building will start later in 2014 with an opening targeted for 2016.
