Restaurant raising money for daycare after cash, electronics stolen from facility

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Brad Underwood) -- A local restaurant is collecting money for a preschool and daycare center after hundreds of dollars worth of cash, electronics and other items were stolen from the facility Friday morning.

People came together quickly to help the daycare out. In addition to donating $400 to the St. James Development Center, Willie's Sports Cafe is donating 10 percent of food sales Saturday to the daycare. One woman also stopped by the daycare to donate a 19-inch television.

Early Friday morning, two men gained access inside the daycare where they spent more than an hour going through cabinets and classrooms finding anything they could steal.

The St. James Development Center says some of the items stolen include a television, five tablets, a laptop and a Nintendo Wii. Cash was also stolen from the vending machines, plus the lock box had $400 in it that the children raised through a bake sale. That money was going to be used for an upcoming field trip to Coney Island.

Friday's burglary was not the first time the daycare had been targeted.
