Piatt Park murder suspect in court

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The man suspected of shooting and killing another man in a downtown park, was locked up on $100,000 bond.

Fonte Williams was charged with murdering Joshua Taylor Monday night in Piatt Park. The murder of Joshua Taylor happened after words were exchanged between Taylor and Williams.  According to the investigation, the words weren't related to drugs or gangs, but with a woman with Taylor.

Police arrested Williams Wednesday evening on Beekman Street. Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell said he believed Williams was also responsible for a drive-by shooting at the park Tuesday night that injured three people sitting by Taylor's memorial. However, he has not been charged with those shootings.

Chief Blackwell has also said more officers will be downtown for major events to restore people's faith in the safety of the area.
