Middletown man arrested for kidnapping, assaulting an officer

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Middletown man faces a number of charges after he's accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and assaulting a police officer.

It started when a woman called police Friday and whispered that she was held against her will in the basement of a home on Logan Avenue. When police knocked on the door, a woman answered and told them how to get into the basement.

They knocked on the door and heard a woman who said she couldn't leave and she needed help. That's when they say Billy Malicote walked up the stairs. Police put him in handcuffs. They also saw the woman, Alicia Moore. Officers say she had been assaulted.

Police say Malicote became irate and ran off. Officers chased him. At some point they said Malicote lowered his shoulder and appeared to charge an officer. Malicote and the officer went down and police say he head-butted the officer before another officer used a taser on him.

Moore told the officers that the pair was estranged but he called and asked to see her. At some point she mentioned she was seeing someone else. She says Malicote then hit her several times and threatened her with a knife, until she told him who her new boyfriend was and where he lived. She then says he forced her to go to his house. She was able to call police when he fell asleep.

Both Malicote and Moore were taken to the hospital. Malicote is currently in jail charged with assault, assault on a police officer, kidnapping and resisting arrest.
