Car drives into Anderson Weight Watchers

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Rich Jaffe) -- Sheriff's investigators said a driver hit the wrong pedal and drove her car all the way into a business at the Anderson Towne Center Tuesday.

The car slammed into the front of Weight Watchers around 12:30p.m.  The car went flying through the store, through the glass, front window. Deputies said 64-year-old Minnie Gantzer was trying to park when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. A customer, Nancy Futrell, was hurt by flying glass. She was taken to U.C. Medical Center. Gantzer was taken to Mercy Anderson.

Employee Kay Burns said she watched the store explode, "I just waved somebody in and the car came full speed through the store and didn't stop until it hit the back."

The car traveled all the way through the store until it hit the back wall.  Anderson Township firefighters backed the car out of the store.  In a bizarre coincidence, three doors down Goodfellas Pizza had a car go through its front window April 1, 2014.

A building inspector was called in to check out the damage. Gantzer was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.
