Kit Andrews announces she's leaving WKRC

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - After 33 years with WKRC-TV, Kit Andrews announced that she's leaving the station.

She began her career at Local 12 as a reporter, then moved up to news anchor. In a letter to her co-workers she wrote, "It's time! After one network change, five different newscasts, seven owners, and more than 33 years I'm hanging up my microphone and leaving WKRC-TV. I am both sad to leave such a wonderful group of friends and co-workers and anxious to see what opportunities may await outside of television news."

"Kit Andrews has been a pivotal part of our on-air team here at WKRC-TV for more than three decades. Her commitment to excellence has been evident in every Tri-State community we serve and in every single newscast in which she has been involved. We wish her the best in all her future endeavors." says Local 12 General Manager and Sinclair Broadcast Group Manager for both Cincinnati and Dayton, Jon Lawhead.
Local 12 News Director Kirk Varner said, "It is not often that you get to work with someone as talented and gracious as Kit Andrews. Having been news director for just a small fraction of her long career, it is with deep gratitude and admiration that I say on behalf of the entire newsroom that we salute her for all of her work here at Local 12. She is simply a consummate professional in every sense of the word."

Kit's last day was Thursday, July 31.
