Man shot in Family Dollar parking lot in Colerain Township

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- A man is shot in the middle of a busy Colerain Township store parking lot  Monday night.

Police were called to the Dollar General store lot on Pippin Road at about 9 p.m. Two men drove up to the victim, said something to him, then shot him. A woman gave him CPR and used another man's shirt as a tourniquet. Police say he was alive, but in bad shape, as he was rushed to the hospital.

There were dozens of witnesses. Police say they do have the first three letters of the suspect vehicle's license plate. They are FZP. They were driving a maroon Cadillac Catera.

Police do believe the victim knew the shooter and may have even been on the phone with him shortly before the crime. There were no surveillance cameras in the parking lot, only inside the store.
