Two child deaths prompt bean bag chair recall

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKRC) -- Two million bean bag chairs are recalled after two children died.

Ace Bayou is recalling the chairs in August of 2014, because the two children climbed inside the chairs and died.  A 13-year-old Texas boy and a three-year-old girl from Lexington, Kentucky suffocated from lack of air and inhaling the chair's foam beads.

The recalled chairs have two zippers that can be unzipped and opened. They were sold in a variety of shapes, sized and colors. "ACE BAYOU CORP" is printed on a tag sewn into the bean bag chair's cover seam. They were sold at Walmart and Meijer stores and online and on

If you have one take them away from children and contact Ace Bayou for a free repair kit to permanently disable the zippers. Call (855) 571-8151 or click the link for recall information.
