Court rules morgue sex lawsuit can go forward

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- A lawsuit can go forward against Hamilton County officials after a morgue attendant sexually abused three female corpses.

That was the ruling Friday, August 15th, 2014, of a federal appeals court.

In the ruling, the judges say a jury might conclude the defendants failed "recklessly and wantonly" to supervise the attendant. The defendants include a former coroner and morgue director. The panel cited evidence that supervisors were aware that Kenneth Douglas was drinking and having sex with live women while on the job.

Douglas was convicted of gross abuse of a corpse.
