Ky Parole Board to correct hearing mistake

NEWPORT, Ky. (WKRC) -- The Kentucky Parole Board said it made a mistake and now it's doing something about it. This is an update on a story Local 12 was first to tell you about.
The board voted to parole Reggie Graves for the murder of the mother of his newborn daughter back in 1998. He was sentenced to fifty years in prison for choking Kimberly Sipe, then dumping her body in the Licking River where she drowned.

Kimberly's family was not notified about the hearing, because records were lost. Graves was set to walk out of prison September 1.

The family called Local 12 for help. Monday, the board voted to have a new parole hearing for Graves, and this time consider victim impact statements from Kimberly's family.
