Traffic stop leads to 100 MPH chase and arrest

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- There's new information today about a driver who led officers on a high speed chase through several communities.

It started as a routine traffic stop near Montgomery and Hopewell roads around 1:30am on August 14th, 2014. Officers tried to stop Henry Mazzecka for going 61 miles per hour in a 25. They say he sped away in a Dodge Charger.

The chase left Montgomery and wound through Cincinnati and Blue Ash. Police say speeds topped 100 miles per hour. He's also accused of running red lights and stop signs. Officers eventually stopped the car on I-75 south at Paddock Road at about two a.m.

They arrested Mazzecka. He's charged with failure to comply with a police officer, speeding and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. He is due in court Friday.
