Benefit to help young woman with rare Stiff Person Syndrome

WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- A good time can help a local woman who is fighting a rare disease.

Local 12 recently introduced you to Kayla Pounds.  CLICK HERE to watch her story on Local 12.

The 22-year-old suffers from a neurological disorder known as Stiff Person Syndrome.  Her muscles lock up and it is difficult for her to get around without a walker.

A stem cell transplant promises the hope that her life can be normal again.  But, it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A fundraiser happens Saturday, August 9 at the Woodlands in Whitewater Township to help pay for Kayla's medical treatment.  It includes dinner, live music, a silent auction and raffles.
