Clermont Co. man admits to murdering his roommate

BATAVIA, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Clermont County man admitted today to murdering his roommate after an argument.

Phillip Hamm pleaded guilty to a murder charge Friday. In exchange, a rape charge was dropped.

Hamm killed 20-year-old Megan Fambry back in February of 2014 in their Union Township apartment on Old Savannah Drive. In a 911 call, Hamm admitted to fighting with Fambry and choking her to death.
As part of the deal, Hamm is sentenced to life in prison with a chance at parole in 25 years. Fambry's family agreed to the sentence. Fambry's mother says she sympathizes with Hamm's family. She says he snapped and that his family is a losing a son as much as she lost a daughter.
