Former police chief gets probation for battery

AURORA, Ind. (WKRC) --  A former Tri-State police chief was sentanced to a year probation after he pleaded guilty to battery.

Bryan Fields, the former aurora chief was arrested December of 2013 on accusations that he beat his wife and two children.

The judge dropped a second battery charge and a domestic battery charge in exchange for the plea.

Fields served the city of Aurora for 16 years.
