Hosea House looks for donations after mishap

NEWPORT, Ky. (Perry Schaible) -- The Hosea House in Newport needs your help after a freezer went down that left more than a month's worth of food rotten.

The Hosea House serves 150 meals a night which, equals more than 1000 meals a week. On Saturday, August 16th, 2014, volunteers had some trouble putting food on the table.

Angie Eubanks, the house chef, said, "Friday night, I put some chicken legs in, everything was frozen. I came in Saturday morning and everything was thawed. It was rotted, smelled horrible. There was no saving anything. It was about a thousand pounds of meat."

That's about one to two months' worth.

It's been a devastating blow to this organization and its clients. It's a busy time and they need donations.

You can donate food or cash.
