Health Alert: Diets that work

CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- A new report said those who stay slim and have a healthy heart have a few things in common.

The new report that came from the Journal of Nutrition found those who were able to keep their heart disease risk down, cancer risk lower and maintained a healthy weight didn't diet.  Instead they had three different principles that worked.

First up, they ate more whole grains, more whole-wheat bread and wheat products.

Second it was found they ate a plant based diet with more fruits and vegetables.  This included beans such as soybeans.

And third they cut down on saturated fat found in foods such as red meats, butter and sugary desserts.

Now what people may notice in this was that they didn't forbid any foods completely.  They just balanced out this eating plan for best results with these three steps.
