Babysitter pleads guilty to molesting children
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A former foster mother pleaded guilty to molesting children Friday and a judge sentenced her to prison time.
Barbara Brooks admitted to sexually abusing children she babysat. The charges did not involve any of her foster children. Brooks raped three girls and a boy between 2002 and 2007. The victims were between seven and 16-years-old at the time.
She pleaded guilty to four of the charges filed against her.
The detective from the case spoke during the hearing. Detective Dana Jones said this was one of the worst cases she's investigated in 17 years. She said more victims came forward after Brooks was arrested. Jones said the trauma the victims suffered was unlike anything she's seen before.
The judge sentenced Brooks to seven years in prison for each count but they'll be served concurrently. She also got credit for the 807 days she was already spent in jail. When she gets out, she'll have to serve five years probation and register as a tier 3 sex offender.
The judge ordered Brooks not to have any contact with the victims or their families. The victims agreed to the sentence.
