School employee arrested and facing a drug charge

COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) -- An employee at a local middle school faced a judge Wednesday, August 20th, 2014, on drug charges.

The Kentucky State Police arrested 26-year-old Quincey Tyus on a charge of drug trafficking.  He was an instructional assistant at Holmes Middle School in Latonia.

The DEA has been to Holmes twice in the month of August as part of a broader investigation.  Officials said that's how they were alerted to Tyus, but he was not believed to be part of the other investigation.

DEA agents only arrested Tyus at the school because they knew that's where they could find him.

Investigators don't think he was selling drugs at the school or to students.
