Man claims he accidentally shot his wife, charged with felonious assault
MADEIRA, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- Emergency crews responded to the scene of a shooting on Windridge Drive off Kenwood Road Tuesday afternoon.
The man who called 911, Blake Seylhouwer, told dispatchers he accidentally shot his wife in the head. The man indicated the bullet ricocheted off concrete. His wife was still conscious and able to talk.
Tuesday night police arrested Seylhouwer and charged him with felonious assault and domestic violence. They said he waited until his wife's back was turned and then fired a round at her from the rifle.
Neighbors were shocked as police investigated the incident. Investigators said the shot was no accident and Seylhouwer intentionally fired a round at his wife after an argument. She was turning her back to walk away when the rifle was fired and bullet fragments hit her in the leg, chest, head and neck.
