University of Cincinnati move-in day

CINCINNATI (Sydney Benter) -- It's back to school time for local college students. Many students at the University of Cincinnati are moving in to campus housing Wednesday, August 20th 2014.
Students' belongings are on sidewalks, in carts and being hauled into their new homes away from home. About twenty-five hundred students are moving in Wednesday. More will move in Thursday.

There's such high demand for housing that the university has had to lease blocks of rooms from University Park Apartments and Campus Park Apartments this year.

The actual move-in process seems to be moving smoothly, but getting onto campus is tricky says freshman Brian Ciepichal, making up a new word to describe it. "Getting here was a pain. There's traffic everywhere and people turning when they're not supposed to. It was pretty messy and trafficy."
There are lots of students and families standing on sidewalks waiting for carts. There's a pretty organized system for getting a cart... But the wait is pretty long so many students we talked to say they'll be carrying their belongings up by hand. . Hundreds of volunteers are trying to help.

The University of Cincinati's fall semester begins August 25th.
