Fire damages three homes in Walnut Hills

WALNUT HILLS, Ohio (Adam Clements) -- A fire damages three houses in Walnut Hills and kept firefighters busy Tuesday morning.

The fire started at one of the homes on Stanton Avenue just before 10:30. The fire spread to a second home. Flames were shooting through the roof. A third house was damaged by smoke.

Before firefighters got there, a man working in his yard saw the smoke. He ran to the house, kicked in the door and ran through the first floor to see if anyone inside. He tried to go to the second floor but he says the smoke was too black to see anything. No one was inside. A family was home at the second home that was damaged, but they got out safely.

So far, there are no reports of any injuries. One firefighter had to be treated for heat exhaustion but he's fine. Firefighters are still investigating the cause. We're still waiting to hear how many people may have to find another place to stay.
