Investigators back where body was found in 1992
LEBANON, Ohio (WKRC) -- Law enforcement agencies were back at one of the scenes of a cold case murder dating back to 1992.
The body of Richard Woods was found off of Wilmington Road in Warren County. He had been shot in the head. It took more than a month to find him. His car was found shortly after his disappearance at a rest stop off of I-71.
He was last seen the evening he disappeared at the now-closed Lebanon furniture store Just Living Rooms. He had a meeting with a business rival, Sam Perone. Investigators found blood around a piece of carpet that had been cut out, but it wasn't enough for a DNA profile.
Two years ago, Deborah Dixon was with investigators as they used a new forensic tool, Blue Star Spray in that office. It revealed high-velocity spatter on window blinds and walls.
Investigators have not said what they're looking for or what they may have found Monday morning at that old crime scene off of Wilmington Road. Charges have never been filed in Woods' death.
