Job fair for Children Services workers

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- Who will take care of the children? Butler County Children Services workers say they plan to go on strike in mid August 2014. That could put safety in question for many children who rely on the department's services.
There are many people in the Tri-State willing to step up and fill the potential gap, attending a job fair. There has been a steady stream of people going into and out of the Ohio Means Jobs office. The job fair hopes to fill the void that could be left by children services workers who may be walking off the job.
The people at the event are hoping to land one of the 20 permanent and 40 temporary positions being made available by the Children Services department. The job fair is being held as social workers prepare for a strike next Monday.

County officials deny the job fair is their way of saying to the union, "do what you have to do".

Some of these people have been out of work for some time-- they just want an opportunity. Union workers want more onset and are concerned about the high turnover producing a heavier workload.

Tuesday's job fair runs until 2 p.m.
