Thefts have neighbors frustrated

SAYLER PARK, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- Neighbors in one part of the tri-state said thieves were loose on their street.
They were breaking into houses and stealing anything that's not bolted down and neighbors were upset because many feel they know who committed the crimes.
Neighbors in Sayler Park have a problem.  Their houses, sheds, and cars have been broken into.  The rash of thefts was unnerving to the people who live on Meridian Street.

One neighbor told Local 12, "The neighbor here right across the street, he's had his quad stolen.  These guys over here, she was home and somebody was fiddling with the back door, trying to get in.  The guy had his shed broken into three times and the last time they took his push mower."
Alfred Wilson cuts grass for the elderly and recently found someone also tampered with his mowers.

"And I come out in the morning, check my mowers, and load up and my lids are off my big mower.  Like somebody is trying to syphen the gas off of it," Wilson said.
Another neighbor showed Local 12 home surveillance video of a couple who many people suspect committed the crimes.  Two figures were seen repeatedly going into backyards.  And the neighbor said the pair stole his mower, wheeling it right down the street.
Homeowners are working together to get the people arrested but most said they need more help from police.  Neighbors said they've caught one man in their backyards repeatedly and chased him out.  They've given the surveillance video to police but were told it wasn't clear enough to ID the suspects.

If you have any information that can help police find the thieves call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
