Man with gun accused of jumping into couple's car at Anderson Kroger

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A New Richmond man, who allegedly used a gun to try and rob an elderly couple at the Anderson Township Kroger, appeared in court Monday.

60-year-old Edward Collier was locked-up in the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $35,000 bond.

Investigators said Collier jumped into the back of the couple's car and put a gun to the woman's head Sunday evening and asked if she knew who he was.  Believing Collier was trying to steal their car; the man jumped in the backseat and struggled with Collier. A bystander jumped in to help. Collier managed to drive off and leave the scene.

Deputies later found Collier at a gas station on Kellogg Avenue. He was identified by the couple and another witness. Deputies said they found the gun, which wasn't real, in his truck. He faces aggravated robbery and abduction charges.
