Kearney: Cleveland Indians should change name

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WKRC) -- As the battle for the Ohio Cup continues Wednesday night at Great American Ball Park, a lawmaker from Cincinnati said it was time for the Cleveland Indians to ditch their name and mascot.

State Senator Eric Kearney introduced a resolution that encouraged the team to take on a theme that was not a stereotypical Native American caricature like Chief Wahoo.
This came just a few days after the NFL's Washington Redskins hired a public relations firm to help them battle to keep their name.
