Procter & Gamble changes, Ivory soap a candidate
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Experts and analysts weigh in on big changes coming to Procter and Gamble.
In August P&G officials said it could do away with more than half its brands in the next couple of years. The Wall Street Journal reports Ivory Soap's performance could make it a candidate to be sold-off or cut.
Ivory was one of P&G's first brands and was developed by the son of a co-founder. The Journal said Ivory was losing sales at an average annual rate of four-percent. Yahoo Money said P&G was working with Goldman Sachs to decide which brands should go.
That report said Duracell Batteries and Braun Shavers were the two biggest names likely to be sold.
Several private equity firms have already started exploring bids for some P&G brands.
