Ohio siblings reunite after decades of searching

COLUMBUS (WKRC) -- An Ohio woman's hard work has finally paid off.

After decades of trying to find her long-lost half brother, the two are finally reunited.

Karen Richards now lives in Columbus. She spent 51 years trying to find her younger brother Kim.

The two were separated when their mother died while they were young and living in California. They had different fathers, who took them in different directions.

One of Karen's co-workers helper her find Kim using an online search.

She sent a letter to him in Texas, then connected by phone, and finally, this week, the two met up in person.

Kim "Larry" Rogers said, "I want to stay connected, of course, never lose connection with her again."

Karen said, "It's done. He's part of me, and he's always going to be part of me."

Kim headed back home to Texas Thursday. Despite the distance, these two siblings have never been closer.
