NKU men sign juco standout Jackson
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University has added former junior college standout Jordan Jackson to the roster for the upcoming season.
Jackson, a 6-foot-2 guard, averaged 14.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game at Williston State College last season. He also dished out 116 assists, recorded 63 steals and shot 51.6 percent from the field.
A graduate of Henry Sibley High School in St. Paul, Minn., Jackson averaged 15 points per game as a senior and was named a Top 25 Mr. Basketball finalist in Minnesota. He was also selected honorable mention all-state and to the AAAA All-Tournament Team.
Jordan is a great athlete, goes to the basket really strong and is outstanding in transition, NKU head coach Dave Bezold said. We think he is going to have a chance to be a very good player.
Jackson joins a Northern Kentucky team that posted an 11-16 overall record last season in its inaugural Division I season. The Norse also finished 9-9 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
