RedHawks Rank Third in USCHO.com Poll
OXFORD, Ohio (WKRC) -- After a weekend split versus No. 6 North Dakota, the Miami University hockey team dropped from No. 1 to No. 3 in the week's USCHO.com national poll.
Minnesota, the new No. 1 team in the country, came away with 972 points, followed by Notre Dame (928) and Miami (874). Despite the series split, Miami still received five first-place votes. Only Minnesota (31) and Notre Dame (11) received more.
This week's opponent, Providence, is eighth with 668 points. Providence is 3-0-0 on the season and was ranked 10th in last week's USCHO.com poll.
The USCHO.com poll consists of 50 voters, including 28 coaches from the Division I conferences and 22 beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll, published weekly by the Associated Press, is a production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.
