Brendon Kay Named American Offensive Player of the Week
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- University of Cincinnati senior quarterback Brendon Kay (Marine City, Mich./Marine City) was named American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Monday, after helping lead the Bearcats to a 38-20 win over Temple this past Friday.
Kay completed 31 of 37 passes (a conference-record 83.7 percent) for 270 yards and two touchdowns to go with a 4-yard rushing touchdown. Kay has thrown for 1,088 yards and nine touchdowns this season and has completed 71.4 percent of his passes.
The 31 pass completions and 37 attempts were both career highs for Kay. He completed his final 15 passes of the game Saturday, throwing for 136 yards and a TD in the second half.
Kay also punted twice for 107 yards, a 53.5 yards per punt average with both punts inside the 10 yard line and one downed at the one-yard line.
The Bearcats are back in action Saturday, taking on UConn at noon inside Nippert Stadium.
