Forward Matt Smyth Returning to Cyclones

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHLs Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Matt Smyth for the 2013-14 season.

Smyth, an Orlando, Florida native notched 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 24 games with the Cyclones during the 2012-13 campaign. He also appeared in three contests with the Orlando Solar Bears and collected an assist. Smyth played his junior hockey in the OHL, OPHJL, and OJHL where he amassed 267 points (120 goals, 147 assists) in 261 games over a five-year span.

Matt shows a lot of offensive upside in this league, said Cyclones Assistant Coach Matt Macdonald. He has a hard, accurate shot and makes plays in the tough areas of the ice. Were excited to have him back in the fold this year.
