Pirates tie HR record at Great American Ball Park

CINCINNATI (WKRC)-- In a game the Cincinnati Reds had to have for a shot at hosting the NL Wild Card contest, they didn't get it--and then some.


The Pittsburgh Pirates tying the record for opponent hone runs in a game at Great American Ball Park. Neal Walker with his the first multi-HR game of his career leading the way, all told, six round-trippers off the Pirates' bats ties the record only equalied twice in GABP history.


This is only the third instance in the park's existence where the visiting team has had six home runs in a single game, but twice this year, as the Colorado Rockies did it on June Fifth. The only other instance came in September of 2007, when Milwaukee found the seats six times.
