Reports indicating Reds are shopping 2B Phillips

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The toothpaste is out of the tube.

The notion that the Cincinnati Reds would trade second baseman Brandon Phillips may have been a crazy notion as recently as a few months ago, now it seems to be a very distinct possibility. On Friday, national baseball writer Bob Nightengale of USA Today echoing local reports that the Reds are indeed shopping thier All-Star second baseman.

The three time All-Star and Gold Glove winner batting .261 with 18 home runs and 103 RBI in 2013. Phillips has four years and $50 million dollars remaining on a contract extension he signed in April of 2012.
