Barber named NCHC Player of the Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (WKRC) -- Sophomore forward Riley Barber (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conferences Player of the Month on Thursday (Oct. 31).
 
Barber has started the year with a bang, notching nation-leading 12 points (8g, 4a) in the first six games of the season. He is also tied for the national lead with two short-handed goals and his eight overall goals and two game-winning goals are the second-highest totals in the country.
 
The sophomore has a three-game point streak (4g, 1a) and has scored in all but two games this season.
 
Barber and the RedHawks are back in action on Friday when they host Canisius in the start of a weekend series at Steve Cady Arena. Puck drops at 7:35 p.m.
