Ryan Shazier an Associated Press All-American

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) -- Standout Ohio State junior linebacker Ryan Shazier was named today to the Associated Press All-American team. This first-team selection on the prestigious AP All-American team is Shazier's fourth first-team honor this season, after he was previously named to the first teams for the Sports Illustrated, and USA Today All-American teams.

Shazier, who was also selected to the Walter Camp All-American second team, ranks third nationally in both tackles-for-loss (22.5) and solo tackles (94), and he also leads the Big Ten with 134 total tackles, a figure good for 13th nationally.

Shazier's 22.5 tackles-for-loss leaves him just 3.5 TFLs from tying the school record held by defensive line coach Mike Vrabel (26 in 1995). He tied two school records in his 20-tackle game vs. Indiana: most solo tackles in one game (16) and most tackles-for-loss (5.0).
