UK's Dupree returning for senior year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky says that junior defensive end Alvin "Bud" Dupree will return for his senior season.

Dupree, whose seven sacks led the Wildcats last season, said in a release that he'll pass on entering next spring's NFL Draft to improve his positioning and graduate next December.

The second team All-Southeastern Conference selection also said he "wanted to help coach (Mark) Stoops with the program" following its second straight 2-10 finish.

Dupree moved from linebacker to end this season and led SEC defensive linemen with 61 tackles. He ranked sixth in the conference in sacks and made a team-high 9.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and one pass breakup.

His 13-tackle effort against Mississippi State was the most for a Wildcats defensive lineman in records dating to 1993.
