Randolph Named American Conference Player of the Week
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Jeanise Randolph (Chicago, Ill./Thornton Fraction North) has been named both American Athletic Conference and College Sports Madness Player of the Week as announced Monday.
The senior forward earned both honors following her performance during a 64-49 win over Ohio State Sunday afternoon. Randolph recorded her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Six of her rebounds came off the offensive glass and led to five points for UC. Overall Randolph was 5-of-11 from the floor, 5-of-6 from the free throw line and dished out one assist.
The award is the first weekly conference award for the womens basketball program since Jill Stephens earned the honor during the 2007-08 season.
Randolph is second this season in scoring at 12.2 points per game and leads the squad in rebounding, averaging 7.2 boards. The senior forward also boasts the top field-goal percentage for the team at 57.5 percent (46-80).
