Bengals name Kyle Caskey as running backs coach

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Kyle Caskey was named as running backs coach of the Bengals.  A fifth-year veteran of the coaching staff for 2014, Caskey  has worked the last two seasons as assistant offensive line and offensive quality control coach.

Caskey replaces Hue Jackson, who will serve as Bengals offensive coordinator this season, replacing Jay Gruden, who has become head coach of the Washington Redskins.

Kyle has worked closely with our coordinators the last few seasons, said head coach Marvin Lewis, and with (OL coach) Paul Alexander, hes done a lot of direct work with our offensive line players. Hes been in the staff meetings with the running back coaches (Jackson and predecessor Jim Anderson).

Its all been part of the evolution of a bright young coach, and the time comes when the opportunitys there to become a position coach on your own. Thats where we are with Kyle, and its great again that we have the person in-house to promote from within.

Last season, Caskey helped direct a line that supported team NFL ranks of sixth in scoring, eighth in pass offense and 10th in net offense.

A native of Daingerfield, Texas, Caskey played TE at Texas A&M and coached in the college ranks from 2004-09. He came to the Bengals in 2010 from the University of Mississippi.
