Jordan Jackson named A-Sun Newcomer of the Week
MACON, Ga. (WKRC) -- Northern Kentucky University's Jordan Jackson has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Newcomer of the Week after leading the Norse to a pair of victories.
Jackson shot 57 percent from the field and averaged 16.7 points per contest in three games, including a 28-point outburst in the Norse's home victory against Jacksonville on Saturday. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists in the win over Jacksonville.
During the Norse's 67-65 overtime win at Stetson, Jackson scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds. He also added nine points in just 12 minutes of play at Florida Gulf Coast.
Jordan is doing a great job of attacking the rim, and he is very deserving of the honor, Norse head coach Dave Bezold said. At times against Jacksonville, he was unstoppable going to the basket. Jordan is a big reason weve started 2-1 in conference play.
This is the second time Jackson has earned the Newcomer of the Week recognition this season. He is a junior guard from St. Paul, Minn.
Northern Kentucky plays host to North Florida at 7 p.m. Monday. North Florida is currently 3-0 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.
