Cyclones add a pair of forwards
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have signed forwards Phil Bushbacher and Nick Wheeler to the club. In a separate transaction, the San Antonio Rampage have recalled defenseman Zach Miskovic.
Bushbacher (BUSH-bocker) comes to the Queen City after starting his career in the CHL and SPHL. He first logged 20 games with the St. Charles Chill, collecting eight points (4g, 4a) before joining the Peoria Rivermen for a four-game stint. Prior to going pro, he played four years of collegiate hockey - two with Lawrence University and two with Lake Forest College; collectively he had 75 points in 106 games between the pair of schools.
Wheeler, a 25-year-old, was also a member of the Peoria Rivermen to start the season. To this point, he had ranked seventh on the team with 11 points (5g, 6a) in 26 games. A year ago, the Nashua, New Hampshire spent the bulk of the season in ECHL with Fort Wayne, earning 15 points (3g, 12a) in 33 tilts. He also logged 16 contests in the FHL with Dayton and Cap Cod, totalling 22 points (6g, 16a).
Miskovic rejoins the Rampage after helping the Cyclones maintain their recent success. He had three points (1g, 2a) in as many games, including the overtime game-winning tally on January 3 against Kalamazoo.
The pair of Cincinnati newcomers will make their Cyclones debuts tomorrow night when they face the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena. The opening face-off is slated for 7:00pm with pregame coverage beginning on the Cyclones Radio Network (CyclonesHockey.com, America One, Cyclones Mobile App) at 6:30pm.
