No. 7 UC runs winning streak to 15 with 63-58 win over UConn

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Sean Kilpatrick scored 26 points, and Justin Jackson added 15, as the 7th ranked Cincinnati Bearcats topped AAC rival Connecticut 63-58 at Fifth/Third Arena.

The Bearcats trailed 31-26 at the half, and struggled for most of the night until a blocked shot by Justin Jackson triggered a fast break, which resulted in a dunk by Kilpatrick to get the Bearcats within three points of the Huskies.  The play seemed to spark the bearcats and the capacity crowd, as Cincinnati went on to claim its 15th consecutive win and a record of 11-0 in conference play.

During the final minute, Titus Rubles went 2-4 from the free throw line while Jermaine Sanders and Sean Kilpatrick added four more from the stripe, to help preserve the victory; their 22nd of the season against just two losses.

Among those watching from the arena was Mike Bohn, who was introduced as the Universitys new Athletic Director during a press conference before the game.

Cincinnati will now travel to Dallas, TX on Friday to take on Larry Browns SMU Mustangs on Saturday night at the Moody Center.  U.C. beat the Mustangs back in January to begin the conference season.
