UC's Sean Kilpatrick to play for Philadelphia in NBA Summer League
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- University of Cincinnati senior Sean Kilpatrick (Yonkers, N.Y./Notre Dame Prep [Mass.]) has signed a contract with Philadelphia to compete for the 76ers at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
The summer league schedule runs July 11-21. Philadelphia's squad begins play on July 12.
Kilpatrick went undrafted in the two-round NBA Draft on Thursday.
The 6-4, 210-pound guard helped guide the Bearcats to 101 victories, four NCAA Tournament appearances and a share of the 2014 American Athletic Conference regular-season title during the past four seasons at Cincinnati. The Bearcats were 27-7 overall and 15-3 in the American during the 2013-14 campaign.
Kilpatrick finished his career as a first-team All-American this past season, leading the American and ranking 18th in the nation averaging 20.6 points. He led UC in scoring in each of its last 20 games and in 31 of 34 contest during the season. He was chosen a finalist for the Wooden Award and the Oscar Robertson Trophy and a semifinalist for the Naismith Trophy.
Kilpatrick finished his career second in career points (2,145 points from 2011-2014), behind only the legendary Oscar Robertson (2,973 points from 1958-60). He tied Deonta Vaughn (2006-10) for the school record in career three-pointers made with 313 and set school marks for career games played (140), consecutive games played (140) and career minutes played (4,315). He also ranks among UC career leaders in victories (second at 101), field goal attempts (second at 1,687), field goals made (fourth at 707) and steals (fifth at 166).
