Mat Latos' Wife Alleges Attack at PNC Park
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (WKRC) -- Reds fans are reeling Wednesday, Oct. 10th, 2013, from the team's lackluster performance in Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile Dallas Latos, the wife of Cincinnati pitcher Matt Latos, is reeling a bit herself. And she's threatening legal action after an alleged assault inside PNC Park.
Pittsburgh police responded to the Bow Tie Bar area of the park for a report of a shoving and cursing match between around 25 fans on hand to support both teams. Police there held a news conference today to outline the chain of events.
“We identified approx. seven reds and pirates fans for ejection. We walked to security office and learned that Matt Latos' wife claimed she was assaulted. It should be noted that two of the fans ejected were with the Latos party.”
Dallas Latos identified a woman she claims struck her three times in the head and neck. Police say all the people involved, including Latos, had been drinking and achieved quote "some level of intoxication".
Police ejected the woman accused of assaulting Latos but the officer did not file a criminal charge because he said it was still a "she said- she said" situation.
Pittsburgh police say they did provide Latos with the name of her alleged attacker in case she wants to pursue a civil lawsuit. Latos tweeted late Wednesday she intends to do so.
