CINCINNATI (WKRC) - With the freezing temperatures in the Tri-State you've surely had frosted windshields.

A simple solution can keep you from waiting for your car to warm up or scraping the ice away, and it’s a solution a lot of people already have in their medicine cabinets.

Just mix two parts rubbing alcohol (70-percent isopropyl alcohol) with one part water in an empty spray bottle and spray it on the frosted windshield. The frost will melt away immediately.

Since rubbing alcohol has a freezing point of 100 degrees below 0, you can keep a bottle in your car and it will not freeze.

Don't have rubbing alcohol? Spray a three part vinegar, one part water mixture to thaw off your windshield.

Here are a few other snow hacks to rid your car of snow and ice:

  • Use a credit card to scrape snow, ice or frost off your window.
  • Have ice jamming up your car locks? The alcohol in hand sanitizer, which helps thaw out your locks.
  • Put some socks on your windshield wipers so snow doesn't stick to them.
  • Beat Mother Nature at her own game- park your car facing east so the rising sun melts the snow and ice for you.
  • If you get stuck in the snow use the floor mats already in your car to get traction.
  • Keep kitty litter in your car. When you need more traction, you can use the litter to act as a salt substitute.
  • Try putting freezer bags on your side mirrors to insulate from ice. Secure them with a rubber band.
  • Defog the inside of your windshield with a chalkboard eraser.
  • Spray cooking spray on the rubber seal to keep your doors from freezing shut.
  • You can also use the cooking spray on your snow shovel so the snow slides off.
