EUBANK, Ky. (CNN Newsource/WLEX/WKRC) - A volunteer fire department in Kentucky is hoping some steamy photos will raise money for equipment and other aspects of their operation.
It is lights, camera, action for these model members of the Eubank Volunteer Fire Department.
"We've seen so many of the quote unquote beefcake firefighters and that's not what most of your volunteers look like," said photographer Amy Rusin.
The proof is in the pictures taken for the department's annual calendar.
Rusin acted as photographer for the brave men and women who revealed a bit of the personalities beneath their fire gear.
One guy cuddled a puppy, another got creative with a razor.
"Some of them were overly excited to do that,” said Battalion Chief Kayla Gilliam. “And some of them, oh no, no, all of them were overly excited to do that. Never mind.”
The photos make for a good laugh, but they are for a good cause too. All of the money raised goes back to the department to help with lifesaving efforts in Pulaski County.
"We can use the money,” said Chief Norman Rutheford. “That's for sure. Because when you start buying equipment, people do not realize how expensive the equipment that we have to buy is."
It is so important that even the chief had to step in front of the camera, but he says you will have to buy the calendar to get a glimpse of his photos.
"Yeah,” said the chief. “No comment on mine."
